Check PDF/UA and tag existing PDFs
EasyPDFUA reads the existing PDF structure and checks document title, language, links and fonts, among other things. Where a change is technically unambiguous, the application creates a new tagged PDF for download.
Features

The application only applies technically verifiable changes and writes them to a new PDF copy. More on tagging

Retroactive tagging
EasyPDFUA works with PDF files that already exist. The original is preserved; a tagging result is provided as a new file.
Up to 5 MB on the free plan, up to 50 MB per file with Premium.
Risky, signed, encrypted or technically ambiguous documents may be rejected.
Retroactive tagging can be incomplete or fail. An additional check, for example with PAC or veraPDF, plus a manual review is strongly recommended. An EasyPDFUA report and a generated copy are not a guarantee or certification of full PDF/UA conformance.

FAQ
EasyPDFUA reads the existing structure of a PDF, checks document title, language, tags, links, fonts and Unicode mappings, and – where a change is technically unambiguous – creates a new tagged copy of the PDF.
Yes. The free plan lets you analyse and tag PDFs up to 5 MB, up to 10 documents per day, without payment details. Premium processes files up to 50 MB, has no daily limit and includes API access.
No. Retroactive tagging can be incomplete. An EasyPDFUA report or generated copy is not a guarantee or certification of full PDF/UA conformance. We recommend checking the result with PAC or veraPDF and a manual review.
No. The tagger creates a conservative base structure and fixes metadata, language, link tags, tab order and Unicode mappings. Headings, lists, tables and alternative text for images still need manual work or an accessible export from the source document.
The original is never overwritten. Tagging always produces a new copy, which can be downloaded once within 15 minutes. PDF contents are not sent to external processing services.
Encrypted, digitally signed or technically ambiguous PDFs may be rejected, because any change could invalidate a signature or damage the content.
